Sandy's Annual Town Meeting will take place on Monday 12 May 2014 at 7.30 pm at Sandy Upper School. Everyone who lives and works in the town is welcome to attend and have their say about their community. The costs of the meeting are borne by the Town Council but the meeting is for the benefit of the whole community.
The theme this year is "Getting About in Sandy". There will be speakers from Central Bedfordshire Council, the Highways Agency and Bedfordshire Police to talk about transport and access issues in Sandy including public transport, roads and footpaths. There will be the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas with the agencies working in Sandy.
The Town Council will also give a report on its activities over the past year and members of the public may submit formal questions or resolutions for debate at the meeting provided they are submitted in writing no later than Monday 2 May 2014. Copies of the report will be available at the meeting..
The Mayor's awards for citizenship will be presented at the meeting. If you would like to nominate an individual or a group in recognition of their contribution to the well-being of Sandy please submit a nomination form no later than 28 April 2014.
